Our Apparatus
In our department, we have different apparatus that have different features to help us most effectively on a given call. With calls ranging from rescues in East Sooke Regional Park to medical calls, and shuttling water in areas without hydrant access, the right apparatus for the job is important in helping us provide the best service we can. Our fleet consists of Engine 1 and Engine 2, Tender 1 and Tender 2, Car 1, and Squad 1.
Engine 1
Engine 2
Purpose: E2 is our second engine out for structure fires with a 840 gallon/minute pump, has 4 W/D, and carries some of our light rescue equipment.
Maximum Crew: 3
About: 1998 Freightliner: FL80 4x4. 500-gallon water capacity
Purpose: When you think of a fire truck, this is what you think of! It’s our first truck out of the station for fires, motor vehicle incidents, and it's our biggest truck you see rolling around the community!

About: 2015 Spartan Metro Star: 800-gallon water capacity
Tender 1
Tender 2
Purpose: Our smallest water truck has the highest carrying capacity when it comes to shuttling water! It is used primarily as a water supply vehicle, helping shuttle water from hydrants to scenes without hydrant access, but it is capable of a pump and roll in a wildfire scenario!
Maximum Crew: 3
About: 1996 Freightliner FL70 1500-gallon water
Purpose: Primary water hauler for non-hydranted area. It has pump capabilities but is primarily used as a water supply and shuttle vehicle.

About: 2007 Freightliner 1300-gallon water
Car 1
Squad 1
Purpose: Squad 1 is our first out for medical calls. It also assists with motor vehicle incidents, carries our rope rescue gear, traffic control equipment, wildfire equipment and spill containment kit.
Maximum Crew: 5
About: 2000 GMC 3500
Purpose: Car 1 is primarily used by the chief or duty officer and is a command post on most incidents when available. This vehicle is seen most often in our community on a daily basis and is on scene before any apparatus arrives at an incident.
